As a result of a major renovation completed in the spring of 2001, the Port Washington Yacht Club is more popular and successful then ever. Now our facilities and services include a new pool and pavilion, spectacular water-view dining room, elegant Commodores Lounge, and state-of-the-art kitchen. Here are some features of the PWYC new facilities:
1. New Heated Swimming Pool and Pool Pavilion:
- Total refurbishment of existing pool including new heater, scupper system, and painted lane markers.
- Pool steps that take the place of a wading pool; children can learn to swim while parents enjoy the pool.
- New 1800 square foot pool deck extension including an overhead cedar trellis sunscreen.
- Pavilion includes full snack bar, kitchen, dining area, boys/girls lockers/toilets. Outdoor dining area for 20+ at pool side and small picnic area adjacent to pavilion building.
2. Dining Room Extension: Includes spacious new dining area, expanded dance floor and out door extension for bay-side dining. Plus new ceiling treatment, trusses, improved lighting, and new service stations.
3. Commodores Lounge: Includes spectacular new bar, with view of beautiful Manhasset Bay. New pantry/service areas, ceiling, improved lighting and new chairs and carpet.
4. Kitchen Renovation: Includes new cooking equipment, work area, walk in boxes, and operational improvements.
5. Other Improvements: New private dining room, accounting/manager's office, bridal room, men/ladies room, reception area and trophy case.
6. Landscaping: All new access road, 60' grass lawn on the waterfront for our junior activities.
