Women on the Water (WOW)
Ladies Sailing at the Port Washington Yacht Club has a rich history.  In recent years, recognizing the strength, skill, and camaraderie we had developed, we rebranded from Ladies Sailing to Women on the Water – a name that better reflects the confidence and commitment of our community!  
 
WOW meets 6pm at the T-House every Wednesday from June through October to sail on the Ideal 18s and occasionally on the big boats (J105, J80).   When there is no wind, we have chalk board talks or even take out the kayaks! Afterwards we gather for dinner in the clubhouse to socialize and plan our next week’s activities!  
 
In addition to our weekly sailing, we now race every Thursday on our J105 or J80 in the Cow Neck Spring and Summer Series on Manhasset Bay. 
 
We welcome all levels of sailing and are very supportive of beginner sailors. To increase confidence on the water, WOW offers certification programs and lessons led by exceptional instructors who are responsible for teaching and certifying new sailors. Their instruction covers both the Ideal 18s and the big boats.
